So I figured I'd turn it into a full-fledged tutorial. Ready? Here we go. Okay, so I went to my handy dandy stash of fabric and pulled out a perfectly sized piece for this project (seen below).
SUPPLIES:
-fabric cut to your desired size
-scissors
-fiberfill
-jute (optional)
-straight pins
-sewing maching or neele + thread
~ Cut the fabric into your into your desired size. With the recycled piece of fabric I found in my stash, my pincushion turned out to be 2 3/4" x 3 3/4".
~ Fold the jute in half.
~ Place the jute in the center of the fabric, which should be right side up.
~ Tack the jute in place with a straight pin.
NOTE: The jute step is totally optional. I add jute to my pincushions because I like to hang them up so they don't get lost under piles of fabric when I'm making something..
~ Place the 2nd piece of fabric on top of the piece with the jute - right sides together.
~ Place straight pins around the perimeter of your pincushion. Oops! I forgot to take a photo of this step, probably because I deleted this step when I made mine.
~ Stuff the pincushion with fiberfill and sew the small opening closed by hand or with your machine.
And voila', a perfectly sweet, little pincushion that's so quick and easy to make! Raise your hands if you like quick and easy tutorials. Yeah!
