Miss Tracy's Tutorials: Plate + Sharpie Marker = DIY Goodness!

Materials:
. ceramic bowl or mug
. sharpie (in colors of choice)

Instructions:

1. Make sure the surface of your ceramic mug is clean and dry.
2. Draw designs on the mug, but be very careful not to smudge them by accident. It takes at least 15 seconds for the marker to dry. I drew my designs freehand because I was 1) eager and 2) goofing around to see how it worked, but you can use stencils, etc., to make your designs. Again, be careful not to smear your work. 
3. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes to set the ink.
4. Let cool completely.

NOTE:

. I cannot advise you how to use your dishware that has been decorated and baked with Sharpie ink with regard to consumption purposes, but I can tell you that I will no longer use this plate for eating. 

. These designs are not dishwasher-safe. Apparently, the Sharpie ink doesn't like to be tossed into the dishwasher, but it does seem to hold up if it's washed by hand, so be sure to wash your dish in the sink, and avoid scrubbing the design.

. The colors will darken a bit when you bake them, so keep this in mind when deciding which colors to use.
