Me + A Christmas Story = A Big :)

It's that time of year again...

Time when I gush about Ralphie and the gang from 'A Christmas Story' - one my favorite holiday movies ever!

I love this kid, his parents, his brother, his friends and the film as a whole.

This film has so many iconic scenes in it. You know how movies have you favorite parts that you like to see? Well, this film has so many irresistible, signature scenes, it's hard to pick a favorite.

And the awesome folks at TBS agree that this film is so incredible, that they play it back to back every year for an entire 24 hours starting at 8pm on Christmas Eve.

My guilty pleasure? Watching as many of the episodes as possible, minus the hours I'm asleep. What can I say? It only happens once a year and yes, every Christmas I gather around the hearth with my loved ones and have the most awesome [repeated] date with Ralphie and the gang until I drive my family bananas and they feel like imploding. Well, they don't actually implode. What actually happens is that at some point, the gathering around the hearth starts to thin out slowly and I find myself alone with the cast, while my family has moved into other rooms for TV viewing. Whatever! They trickle back in at various points because who can stay away from little-Ralphie-boy and his crew for long?

Anyway, this year marks the 30th anniversary of 'A Christmas Story', so many, many thanks to the director who made this delightful gem and thanks to TBS for years of holiday memories! :D

PS: I love Schwartz' hat! He's the character with the profane tongue whose mother gave him the beating of a lifetime because of his dirty mouth. He always wears that cool hat with the long 'tail'. I remember this style of hat when I was a kid. It's awesome and I so want one just like that!

  2. There are so many things in life that we all have no awareness of, until the moment we do. If you have no issue with the premise of the movie - (a boy's strong desire for a [bb] gun0, you may enjoy this fun infested movie.
